These two paintings represent the precursor to the Small-Scale series: an exploration of color, line, and shape within the confines of a small, everyday object.
The Notecard Series is an interrogation of color utilizing the limits that small scale work imposes. The small scale and ordinariness of the surface removes the sense of preciousness that art materials can create, leaving room for uninhibited play and exploration. Once competed, each work is evaluated and named in connection with the artist's experience with her ADHD symptoms.
